Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Tax Practice team. This role focuses on providing tax-related services to our clients, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and maximizing tax benefits. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in QuickBooks and accounting software to manage and prepare individual and corporate tax returns, as well as assist in year-end adjustments for tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns using QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Assist clients with adjusting year-end books for tax preparation.
Provide support on partnership tax and corporate tax accounting matters.
Manage family accounts and trust accounting tasks as required.
Utilize Lacerte for tax preparation and filing processes.
Conduct estate accounting as needed to ensure compliance with tax laws.
Collaborate with clients to identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure accurate tax reporting.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to provide informed guidance to clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
2+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation.
Proficient in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and QBO.
Strong knowledge of individual accounts and adjusting year-end books for tax prep.
Experience with partnership tax and corporate tax accounting is preferred.
Familiarity with trust accounting, family accounts, and estate accounting is a plus.
Experience using Lacerte tax software is an advantage.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
