Category Manager
Position Overview
The Category Manager is responsible for developing and implementing category strategies that drive sales and profitability. This role involves managing product selection, pricing, and promotional strategies to optimize product assortments and enhance customer satisfaction within the retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimize product selection and pricing.
- Analyze category performance and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing and terms for products.
- Manage merchandise assortments to ensure a balanced and appealing product selection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute promotional strategies and optimize space allocation.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage replenishment strategies to avoid stockouts and overstocks.
- Utilize planograms to create effective product displays and maximize sales potential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in category management or retail management.
- Ideal category experience overseeing center of store.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on category analysis and performance metrics.
- Experience in vendor negotiation and relationship management.
- Familiarity with planogram development and space allocation techniques.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and promotional planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- This will be an onsite position with up to 30% travel in the field.
