Position Overview

The Director of Accounting will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting leadership with strategic insights, and optimizing accounting operations. This individual will collaborate across departments to enhance efficiencies, improve reporting processes, and lead a high-performing accounting team to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing strategic insights to leadership and board members
  • Oversee general ledger accuracy and financial statement reviews
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
  • Lead external audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Implement and enhance financial software systems, including advanced Excel functions and NetSuite
  • Support cross-functional collaboration to align financial decisions with company goals
  • Oversee tax planning initiatives and compliance strategies
  • Develop accounting procedures, assess internal controls, and manage financial risk
  • Lead accounting staff by providing mentorship, setting performance goals, and encouraging professional growth
  • Conduct budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of five years of experience, with at least two years in public accounting
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; NetSuite experience preferred
  • Strong financial analysis and accounting principles expertise
  • Experience in healthcare or for-profit industries preferred
  • Leadership experience in mentoring and developing accounting teams
  • Strategic budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management skills
  • Expertise in internal controls, risk management, and tax strategy
  • Ability to collaborate cross-departmentally and communicate financial insights effectively
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
